Battleloot Adventure: A review.

Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 4:58 PM

Recently, I have been looking for a cute, Role-playing game for my iPhone 4. I often get tired of games very easily so, games that I choose have to have a 'cuteness' factor. Battleloot Adventure certainly gives me that. Here's a walkthrough of how the game is like:
  1. The map.

To me, the map is much easier to navigate compared to other games' maps. I find it cute, too! It is really pleasing to the eyes! They are color-coded, of course, according to the type of characters.

  2. Four types of characters.

The game's characters are divided into four classes, and each class has its own specialty:

    1. Warriors - they possess the blue color, and defense is their strongest asset.

    2. Rogues - they possess the red color, and accuracy is their strongest asset.

    3. Sages - they possess the green color, and healing is their strongest asset.

    4. Mages- personally, they are my favorite! They possess the purple color and attacking is their strongest asset.

Like with any RPG game, the characters are not limited to 4. Each class has different occupations, for example, a sage class can have a healer, an alchemist, and etcetera.

  3. The characters' gears.

The gears, tools, weapons, and costumes of each character can be customized and upgraded as you go along the game. I love how not everything is made available so as to make sure the player gets to play more of the game first, before upgrading all of the characters' gears.

  4. The formation of teams.

As you play the game, you first start with only one character, and as you go fighting with different enemies (cute monsters), you get to save other characters as well, and earn them as your ally. Like in the picture above, I already have 8 members in my team, though I would not get to use them all at the same time. You see, for each battle, the game only allows a team of three, which can be customized by assigning each character to one of three positions i.e. the rear, flank, and front positions. What I like about this feature is that, it gives me more challenge in such a way that I have to prioritize who to use, and who I want to level up more!

  5. The learning of new special skills.

All characters are not limited to their weapons in this game. Each has special powers/skills that can be learned and unlocked in due time. Stars are used as a symbol of those special skills. What is good about this is that, your character becomes stronger because of such skill. These skills may serve as a big assistance to them, especially as the game becomes harder. You can opt to buy coins via in-app purchases like I did, or play either old or new levels to earn more money to learn each skill that is represented by a star.

  6. The items.

The items page are what I like to call the "save-me" items. These are what will save you when the enemies you encounter are far stronger than you, and you do not want to be knocked out. I've been knocked out so many times already, that I make sure I have all my slots filled up with these items. Although, not all 5 slots are available at start-up, you have to purchase each slot, so it's more challenging!

In conclusion, Battleloot Adventure not only has the 'cuteness factor' that I am looking for, it also functions as how a real RPG game should function. This app definitely should be worth more than $0.99! And so, like with all other reviews, I can only tell you so much. Why not, download, install, and play the game for yourselves? Cheers!

Grammar Tip #1

at 1:37 PM

I know I am not little miss perfect when it comes to grammar, but I cannot deny that I am a little bit annoyed when people use the meaningless word "stuffs." It is driving me insane. People, just so you all know, the word "stuff" is uncountable. Hence, using it with a letter "s" makes it meaningless and is just plain wrong.

In addition, it is also informal, so instead of using "stuff," one might want to consider using "things" instead.

...just trying to make the world a better place, one step at a time.

PNOY and Grace Lee, dating?

at 1:37 PM

Seriously? Why? Isn't Grace Lee too young for him? She is honestly too beautiful for him, too. :( What is going on with the world? Why is this happening? What is PNOY doing to these women that makes them want him? :( I am seriously confused.
